Enjoy it while it lasts!

This winter marks our 3rd winter in France.  The first two were bitterly cold with lots of snow in the city.    And this is more than just my southern girl opinion...even the locals said that the past two winters were pas normal.  Normally, it is cold and snows only in the higher elevations. Well this year, was a bit of a wacky switch up.  First of all, there was snow on Christmas Day in South Carolina and here in Clermont.  Who doesn't love a white Christmas?!  On top of that it continued to snow in most of the US for the next week, 49 states had snow!  And here in France, where winter sports are a major industry, we were having spring-like weather!  I am by no means complaining about the warmer weather, but I must admit that when we went sledding and there wasn't much snow, it kind of put a damper on things.  (I'll post pics and video of that adventure and our holiday visitors in my next post!)

So what do you do in Clermont when God blesses you with warmer weather?  You take lots of walks.  Here are a few pictures from one of our Sunday afternoon walks around town.

Of course, weather like this couldn't last forever, and just last night it began to snow.  It was really cold today and the forecast is calling for colder days and more snow this weekend.  So while I am already pining away for more warm weather, I know that my friends that love to ski are very glad to see the return of the normal, snowy winter.  My only consolation is that we get to use our fireplace, which is always warm and cozy.  If there is one thing that I have learned well over the past 2 years, it is whatever life brings you, find the good and enjoy it while it lasts!
